The International Journal of e_Assessment (IJEA)
This interdisciplinary international journal aims to publish expert opinion on a range of e-Assessment matters, exchanging evidence-based research results and analysing relevant industry trends as well as presenting practical experiences gained from developing and implementing technology enhanced assessment.
So it aims to bridge the gap between pure academic research journals and more practical publications or opinion papers. The supporting website and links to the work of the e-Assessment Association and Cambridge Assessment will cover the full range of topics from research, application development, case study reports, relevant conference/events and product descriptions.
The journal will address the lack of a single source for research publication and project report examples with particular emphasis on e-Assessment. It publishes both refereed and non-refereed contributions from researchers and practitioners relating to the design, implementation, evaluation and management of e-Assessment across a range of sectors and industries.
A primary source for papers will be the partnership with the Computer-Assisted Assessment Conference but further editions and articles will also be commissioned from time to time. It will act as a central and definitive archive for historical research and reports on the topic of e-Assessment.
The purpose of the journal will be:
- To stimulate research and discussion into key issues surrounding the use of technology in testing, assessment and learning;
- To provide information about the availability of existing research into key assessment and delivery issues;
- To act as a reference archive for key historical research and papers on the subject;
- To bring into sharper focus those issues for which research exists and identify issues which need to be understood more fully;
- To act as the definitive source of independent guidance and evidencene-based research and reports on the subject.
IJEA is supported by a collaboration between the e-Assessment Association, Cambridge Assessment and the Computer-Assisted Assessment Conference.
The journal exists to further the aims of the partnership organisations; to promote educational excellence and high quality learning through the use of effective assessment. In order to achieve this we are committed to ensuring that all quality assessments are fair and valid, have sound ethical underpinning, demonstrate appropriate applications of technology and operate according to the highest technical standards.
